Once you learn to draw, soon you recognize: a major part of this art is just craftsmanship and technique. Once you are proficient in the primary techniques, your creativeness can rely on these basics. Learn Drawing Hatchings and Cross-Hatchings

To make the shading more dense you have to apply the same techniques as when creating cross hatching.

A different way for drawing shadings involves drawing countless very little circles densely together so they merge and blend. Shadings made this way are extremely smooth and lack a visible direction. The advantage: you won't have to keep an eye on the shading's visible direction.

Ideally you begin exercising shadings instantly. Choose a few sheets of paper, sketch a few bare forms like rectangles and begin to fill them with shadings. Try to make them as smooth as imaginable and apply all the different techniques explicated before.

Again when you have achieved decent levels of expertise, try to begin using the techniques learned on real-world sceneries.

Use Various viewpoints and perspective types

Besides creating shadings and hatchings the most crucial technique you need to know when commencing to learn drawing, is a sound apprehension of perspective.

There are a few rules that can assist you in constructing perspectively correct drafts. But first it's necessary you practice your eye to acknowledge common structures.

Choose easy subjects largely containing of unbent lines and not too much arcs. And then draw those scenes by drawing only the silhouette. This way you are able to focus on understanding dimensions and perspective. But don't stay here, reiterate this practice by drawing the same scenery again and again from different viewpoints.

Whatever perspective you will look at it, the Spanish language is a very powerful one. Newscasts, television shows, movies and music, in addition to the books of Paulo Coelho and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, are available almost anywhere. The numbers, Spanish being the second most widely-spoken language in the world with more than 350 million speakers, must provide you with an idea of just how alive and colorful this Romance language is.

Spanish Number Booboos

Unfortunately, some people have taken it upon themselves to desecrate the language. It's a common sight to observe men displaying wrong interpretation of Spanish numbers. Spanish as a language warrants better treatment!

Chad Johnson, of the National Football League, is among those who is guilty of number blunders. His jersey contains the numeral 85 and above that "Ocho Cinco". Had he known his numbers, he'll realize that the Spanish for 85 is "ochenta y cinco". It's either that he changes his name or his number.

Another common mistake of people who attempt to use the Spanish language is in writing dates. It's important to note the difference in the way it's written: US dates are written as month-date-year while Spanish dates are written as date/month/year. If Spanish dates are spelled out using months and numbers, they should appear as follows: 14 de augusto 2008. One significant thing to remember is that in Spanish, the first letters of the months aren't capitalized.

How to Refrain from Committing These Blunders

Since practice makes perfect, it is best that you test your knowledge on the Spanish number system. If you do manage to commit to memory these numbers, you would have no issues calling them out in the correct order.

Benefits of Knowing

Spanish-speaking corporations are prevalent and this shall give you enough reason to know the correct formatting of Spanish numbers. If you work in a multi-national corporation, you'll agree that often, you will find some Spanish details in certain documents such as shipping and emails. Because effective communication is essential in any workplace, it's important that you know the Spanish number system by heart.

Another example when the need for proper information on Spanish numbers becomes evident is when ordering out. In the US, Mexican food is popular and the fact is, most of the diners that offer this kind of food speak very little or no English at all. You do not want to end up ordering more or paying more simply because of your erroneous Spanish numbers. Or if they do speak English, they are more comfortable using their mother tongue. At least, if you know Spanish, you can wander around town easily with no fear of communication breakdowns as a result of misunderstandings about the fare and distance, si?

Ultimately, knowing your Spanish language lets you learn the language altogether faster. As you will later learn, Spanish numbers can also be used as pronouns. However, this is onlyapplicable cardinal and ordinal numbers which stand for a number and a noun that is omitted or implied. At the outset, this concept seems perplexing but as you go further with your Spanish lessons, you'll find out that this makes perfect sense.

Learn to Play the Piano the Easy Way

Here are some pointers to help you on your journey in learning to play the piano:

1. Take some lessons with a good classical teacher.

2. Use the Hanon exercises (especially the scales and arpeggios) to gain finger dexterity and to know the correct piano fingering of the scales and arpeggios. Always use a metronome when you're doing these exercises to develop your sense of timing. If you don't have a metronome try putting an accent on the "one" count of every sixteenth note (e.g. ONE,two,three,four; ONE,two,three,four...etc...).

3. After learning the basics/rudiments of playing the instrument, find another teacher who can teach you how to play the chords (a good jazz piano improvisation teacher will do!) and how to improvise.

4. Master the five qualities of chords (major seventh, dominant seventh, minor seventh, half-diminished, and the diminished seventh) their inversions, arpeggios and scales.

5. Try to apply what you are learning to your favorite songs especially jazz standard songs even to some classical music pieces. You can use songbooks, fake books, real books and music sheets, which are readily available at your local music stores or online.

6. Listen to all types of music and try to transcribe phrases/passages/riffs/licks or songs that interests you. Listen to piano players - the way they play, improvise and learn from them. Try to read their biography to learn how they study, practice, who influenced them and their achievements. I believe these can help to make you a well-rounded piano player.

7. Play with other musicians or join a band in your school or in your neighborhood.

8. Try to sing the melody of the song you are playing (you might have a hidden talent in singing) or if you are improvising, sing (scat) what you are playing.

9. Buy some piano lesson books, magazines, piano lesson videos, piano lesson software or CD-ROM.

10. Practice, practice and practice!

When you begin to get the hang of guitar playing, one of the things on your to-do list will probably to get some tab for Spanish guitar pieces and see what it feels like to play some of that exotic sounding guitar music. When you start looking round, you will find that there is quite a bewildering range of Spanish guitar tabs from a bunch of artists you have probably never heard of.

One way to get a handle on the Spanish guitar repertoire is to go to YouTube and type "Spanish guitar" into the search box. Or if you have been doing some research on the web and have found the names of Spanish guitarists or composers, type their names in and see if you can find some of their work. You could also try searching the web for info on the Phrygian mode which is used extensively in Spanish music.

Here are a few names to start you off: Paco de Lucia, John Williams (the classical guitarist, not the movie theme composer), Rodrigo y Gabriela, Gypsy Kings. These artists are from different backgrounds but all are masters of that Spanish guitar sound.

John Williams is a classical guitarist who was a student of the great Spanish guitar innovator, Andres Segovia. Although he is bound by the constraints of achieving the clear, expressive classical guitar sound, his approach to Spanish music is as flamboyant as you are likely to find in a classical guitarist.

If you find tab for Spanish guitar music it will most likely sound best on a nylon string guitar. Flamenco and classical music is played on nylon string acoustic guitars using the fingernails of the right hand. You can play Spanish music on steel string acoustic guitars but the strings might tend to break your nails if you try to use the flamenco-style picking techniques.

One book of tab for Spanish guitar that you should look for is "Spanish for Guitar: Easy to Intermediate Solos by the Spanish Masters". The book has arrangements of some very popular Spanish guitar solos. They are mostly from the classical guitar repertoire but if you can read tab and have some experience in guitar fingerpicking, these pieces are worth a try.

Learn to Play Spanish Guitar

Being diverse in your musical entourage will come easier once you have learned to play one or two instruments well. When it comes to playing the Spanish guitar, which is also called the classical guitar, it is always best to dedicate your time to learning it well, and then switching to other types of guitars you fancy. A classical guitar is a bit harder to play, but when learned, you’ll have the ability to easily play other acoustic or electric variations with ease.

Generally, a steel-stringed acoustic guitar is played using a plectrum, known also as a pick. The pick is held between the index finger and thumb and makes strumming easier. However, with a Spanish guitar, one uses the fingernails and the tips of the fingers so that different patterns of strumming are employed. In order that different digits are used, the Spanish guitar is made with greater gaps between strings and the fingerboard on the base of the head is wider. Contrasting with an acoustic guitar, the Spanish guitar can be supported by the left leg, which is usually raised and supported by a small wooden footstool. This allows the weight of the guitar to be balanced on the left leg, giving the right arm and hands greater space with which to work. More mobility means that a guitarist playing a Spanish or classical model can strum fast and freely.

Another great aspect of using a Spanish guitar is that you’ll have a wider range of sounds or “voices” that you’ll be able to create. Because the bare fingers are used for strumming, a wider range of voices can be played simultaneously, adding to the rich flavor that makes the classical instrument so appealing.

In addition to the different playing manners of various guitars, the Spanish guitar does not use steel strings. Steel was not an available option for classical players and the sound created from different strings is quite apparent. In the classical sense, the Spanish guitar uses nylon strings. Nylon does not require as much tension as an acoustic steel-stringed instrument, and gives an alluring sound without sounding overly hollow. Furthermore, Spanish guitars might be lighter than their acoustic or electronic counterparts, which most often use an inner steel rod that helps support the tension created by steel strings and does take away from the overall sound produced. Newer Spanish guitars don’t use nylon as often, but synthetic materials that are said to mock the quality of nylon well.

Finally, typical Spanish guitars have six stings, but many can be purchased with seven or more, allowing the player to reach other tones. The more strings, the more difficult to play because different chords and fret positions will vary. Also, depending upon the brand of Spanish guitar you are considering, the keys or tension pegs, found on the outer neck of the instrument, will be slightly turned in towards the player, allowing the player to quickly and accurately adjust the sound of the instrument. Overall, learning to play the Spanish guitar first will give you a better understanding of guitars as a whole and will mean greater adaptability later.

It is interesting to observe how fast children learn when they are young! Research supports our observations that learning experiences must begin in the early years from birth to age five. This is a critical time in a child’s musical and cognitive development. The benefits of music and movement in the preschool years have been well documented. Research studies show that music enhances brain development and academic learning. Music affects many areas of brain function and neurological development. Many levels of neurological readiness exist in children, and music is a powerful enhancer at each stage of neurological development. The earlier a child is exposed to music and movement, the better.  Research findings include:

•    Children who receive early music training score higher on standardized tests.
•    The use of music during learning can increase a child’s IQ.
•    Young children who take music lessons show different brain development and improved memory over the course of a year compared to children who do not receive musical training.
•    There is a link between spatial reasoning and participation in music and movement activities.

Preschool children are at the beginning of the learning spectrum. Parents and teachers set learning patterns and attitudes and introduce children to learning by providing the first exposures. These exposures should encourage the joy of participating in music and making music. Joyful experimentation will result in the growth of musical skills and lay the foundation for future music learning as well as for future academic success.

As a music educator for 40 years, I have seen the positive results of music education for children. It is very important for parents to expose their children to music and to encourage participation in music and movement activities informally at home and in more organized music education settings.

Movement is innate in children and provides the basis of everything young children learn. It contributes to the growth and coordination of the large and small body muscles. In addition, movement is an important nonverbal learning tool. Preschoolers understand much that they cannot yet put into words.  They demonstrate their understandings through gestures and other movements. Clapping or patting the steady pulse or beat of rhymes, songs, chants, and recorded music is a valuable activity and preparation for future music ensemble participation. The ability to perform a steady beat while singing, speaking, or listening to music aids the child’s success in reading and other academic areas. Music education is an important aspect for a child’s learning process in life. From simple beginning experiences the child is guided to more sophisticated musical and creative activities.

While music is a viable stand alone educational program, music also reinforces and enhances the learning of other skills and benefits learning in many ways. This is especially true for reading and language arts. Music helps children focus on the structure of sounds which is an important aspect in language development and literacy skills. Having a musical vocabulary of melodic patterns and phrases directly transfers to the ability to develop a spoken vocabulary of patterns and sounds—thereby aiding the child’s success in reading and communicating.

It has long been believed that brains change as a result of music learning. Researchers in neuroscience, utilizing recent advances in MRI technology, are actually studying the human brain in the act of creating or listening to music. And what they are finding is remarkable.

Perhaps the most exciting news is the evidence that music can actually change the physical structure of the brain – a fact that has critical implications for both education and medicine. Music may even be a major key to unlocking the mystery of how the brain actually learns.

Go out and find some native Spanish speakers. If you can make friends with someone who speaks both English and Spanish, you will have an open door to your learning. Even if you don’t yet know enough to make conversation with them, listening to them speak will teach you subtleties about the language that no classroom can.

Use the Internet. Check out as many different phrase guides and websites you can. Try and learn 25 new words each day. That’s easily achievable if you work consistently. Find some websites that are published in Spanish, and see if you can gradually working out what they are saying. This is an excellent way to build up your understanding of Spanish sentence structure and grammar.

Rent some Spanish movies-and watch them with the subtitles off! This is an excellent way to learn as it forces your ears to work and doesn’t let your brain use the subtitles as a crutch. Get some Spanish reading. It’s a good idea to start with light reading like magazines or newspapers, and progress from there. Once you progress to the point where you get an idea what the things are reading mean, it’s time to move on to books written in Spanish. That’s where the fun really begins!
