I have a great love for all things Italian. I work in a translation agency dealing with Italian English language combination projects, I am getting fat on Italian food and I am even marrying a fantastic Italian girl, who is also a translator.

So I hope to bring to you in this article not only an Italian English translation of the text. But also, a feel of the Italian culture and way of life.

Already, the whole of Italy is getting ready for the summer. In the south they may already be getting on the beach some weekends.

Another funny side I have discovered is that some of the Italians I know (boys and girls) are already planning on getting rid of their girlfriends / boyfriends so that they won't be restricted from the pleasures of summer.

When I think of an English Spring I remember a saying my mother as always said 'March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion' Meaning it will start nice, but end with the roar of storms.

In the summer the Italians are all heading for the beach. Italy is long and narrow looking like a ladies boot. As such, you are genereally no more then 45 minutes from the beach.

Most Italian have a selection of beaches they use. The beach of the family, the beach where they meet their friends and the beach where they go to see and be seen!

Autumn is generally a little depressing in most countries. The days are becoming shorter and the days on the beach are less and less inviting.

However, Italians love to party and the harvests create a cause for many regional celebrations. So I actually love this Italian season. Its cooler so you get to catch up on what you have put off through the heat of summer.

Well......again Italy is long and narrow and shaped like a boot as it has been formed by the merging of tetonic plates. This has resulted in a country that has mountains down its middle.

So the Italians, like many English, are generally off to the ski slopes. But unlike the English most Italians are only an hour from the slopes so they are able to go skiing most weekends.

In the original Hebrew verse of 1 Chronicles 16:29 says:

O Eminent Biblical Scholars, are these two words too difficult to translate?

Study of 20 different English versions of the Bible reveals that only one version (5%) translates the two Hebrew words correctly.

On the other hand, 19 0ut of the 20 (95%) versions studied translate the two Hebrew words to Worship the LORD (Lord) in 16 versions and Worship Jehovah in two versions.

The strangest translation was "Enter his presence! Stand resplendent".

But, why the scholars who translate the Bible have done that?

Are they ignorant or have they willingly done that?

In the next article, you will realize the answer of the above question.

On the other hand, the Arabic word pronounced as "Sajada" that is the root of Prostrate is almost always translated to Prostrate in the four different English translations of the Quran.

Maybe you have been to the Japanese section of your city recently, or you went on a trip to Japan.  You were probably bombarded with many different Japanese characters from the various signs around and were stricken with a high level of confusion.  You then realize that you want to turn this confusion into a sense of knowledge.  From then on, you say, "I want to be able to translate Japanese words in English gosh darn it!"  This is where I come into play.  

I want you to know the different methods there are to learn how to translate Japanese words in English.  This way you will never again be met with confusion and only be comforted with knowledge empowerment.

Here are 10 ways to translate Japanese Words in English:

1. Learn out of a Japanese dictionary.  You can find these dictionaries in your local bookstore, library, and online.  This will help you translate single word to very complex phrases.

2. Have someone Japanese teach you the language. Know any friends that know the Japanese language?  How about any relative?  If you ask them kindly, you will probably get a free tutor!

3. Go to a language school.  Japanese can be taught in school.  Look up all the schools in your area and see which ones offer a Japanese language course.  This is the perfect structured way to learn Japanese.

4. Research over the internet.  The internet is filled with helpful content.  Do a Google search for "Learn Japanese."  You will be given a huge list of helpful learning sites.

5. Use software for Japanese language training.  If you cannot afford a teacher, get a computer program to teach you.  This way of learning the language is cheaper and makes you feel like you are playing a computer game!

6. Get private lessons.  Look for private Japanese lessons in classifieds and through your phonebook.  There are tons of private teachers waiting for your phone call.

7. Join language forums.  If you have specific questions about the language, ask fellow internet surfers.  Just look up, "Japanese Language Forum" in a search engine and you will see an excellent source for learning the language.   Just sign up to a forum, make a few friends and learn Japanese.

8. Ask questions on specific answer boards online.  There are sites online that are made to answer any question you have about life.  Type in "Answers" in a search engine and find a site that will give you...answers.  Ask your specific Japanese language questions there and see how many people help you out.

9. Learn Hiragana and Katakana.  These are two forms of the Japanese syllabary.  Learn more about them online and offline.  They will help you with gaining knowledge for writing and understanding Japanese characters.

10. Take a trip to Japan.  Learn from the source.  Japan has a whole country with people that are professionals of the Japanese language.  If you stay there for long enough, you may just soak up the language.

If you take these tips into consideration, you will understand how to translate Japanese words in English very quickly.  Stay persistent with your learning.  If you get stuck, get help from someone with proper knowledge of the language.  This new skill that you will acquire has the ability to benefit you for many years of your life.  Now go learn some Japanese!

The TOEFL Test: TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) is a test used by many colleges, universities, government agencies and exchange and scholarship programs in the US, UK and Canada as a means of evaluating the language skills of a person whose first language is not English.

You can find TOEFL study guides easily online with other recommended resources listed. You may be able to access some of the sample tests and prepare with personal study. Or you may look for a class with an instructor to help you prepare for the test.

ESL Classes: ESL classes are a common means for students to learn English with group of classmates. These can be in the form of an evening class with various individuals attending or may be part of a college program during the day.

The course length and the topics covered will differ from country to country and school to school. Some summer programs are geared for international students to gain a basic grasp of the language before starting studies in English taught classes of the college or university.

Since the standards of passing a course, or the course material itself, will vary drastically, some students may feel that the language skills gained upon completing the course does not equip them to handle school work or social interactions adequately.

Some schools offer students and alternative of home-stay programs for students. Home-stay programs benefit the student by placing them for several weeks or months with a host family that speaks English. The student is then able to immerse him or herself in the culture and social speaking of the English country they are living in. There are also online ESL programs that may be suitable for distance education, especially if programs are not readily available in your area.

Private Tutors: Another popular method of learning English is with private tutors. The materials and methods used by ESL tutors will vary greatly and it is important to establish what material will be used and to feel comfortable with the tutor. Asking friends or other students for references can be helpful in finding a good tutor.

A combination of these English learning methods will be effective as well. You can take a summer course while staying with a home-stay host family and then arranging for private tutoring during the school year. Making an effort to use your new language skills regularly in social situations will improve your progress regardless of the program or course you are using.

You may ask yourself, where do I start? Even if I do translate every English word to Chinese, how do I make sure the sentence obeys the Chinese grammar rules? Lets discuss a quick way that many have found useful to translate your English Talk or Article into Chinese.

Step 1. Write your talk in English.
This way you make sure you add all the points you want to make and make sure its logical and coherent and teaches or conveys the ideas you wish to highlight and meets the desired goals.

A) Don't write too much English:
Often, when you are new to Chinese, everything takes longer to say and read. Often a 5-minute English talk, might take 7 to 10 minutes to say it in Chinese, especially if you are not yet fluent. Also, make sure you don't write too much. This will not only save you in translation time, but then you will not need to cut out some important points from your talk and rewrite the English and start over again if your way over time.

B) Write very short and simple English sentences:
The shorter the English sentence the better Chinese translation software to translate. In step 2 we will need to use Google translate to help.

C) Use existing Chinese Text
If you are creating a talk based on a book, magazine or news article, use existing phrases and sentences from these sources. If they are not already in electronic form, use a computer scanner to scan in the text. This way, you can use existing specialized words and terms that translation programs might not be able to translate properly. Use the Chinese sentences in steps 2 and 3.

Step 2. Translate English sentence into Chinese Characters
Translate each sentence one at a time to Chinese.

Open a browser window to: Google Translate and select English to Chinese-simplified or English to Chinese traditional. Paste in an English Sentence one at a time and hit translate. How do you know if it translated correctly?

We need to test the translation. Write the same English Sentence at this site Free English to Chinese Translation and compare the results. (this site gives you a direct translation and opportunity to select the correct English meaning). Also, we could reverse the process though another translation site such as Free Chinese to English Translation.

Remember with Google, the longer the sentence the more chance of an inaccurate translation. You may have to reword or reduce the sentence length at times.

Why do we even use Google translation? It's because they do put the sentence into a somewhat grammatically correct sentence structure with proper measure words and proper placement of times/dates at the start of the sentence etc. If the sentence did not translate correctly, either rewrite the sentence or if you know the Chinese word that is not translating correctly, enter in the Chinese word directly in step 3.

Step 3. Get Pinyin and English
As mentioned in step 2, we can check the results of our English to Chinese Translation. Open a new browser window to: ThePureLanguage and enter in the Chinese characters from Google. This will not only provide you with a second check that it was translated correctly from English, but provide the important Pinyin to pronounce the Chinese characters to you're your talk in Chinese. It has also parses the Chinese characters so they are no longer in one large block of characters, but now you know where the words start and end. With the enhanced version of the software, you can add your own words and override the Chinese.

Step 4. Get Chinese Talk Proofread
If you have a Chinese friend, you can give them your document with your translated sentences in Chinese characters for them to proof read and make edits.

Step 5. Make final Document
When the document is returned from proofreading, run the modifications through step 3. Create a formatted document with the Three Line Translation Character-Pinyin-English from the results into a document that can be read out for your talk.

Congratulations, you have just created a Chinese Talk.

Have you ever tried learning a second language? It's not surprising if you haven't. Most people who grew up speaking English don't really seem all that interested in learning an entirely new way of communicating unless they're compelled to do it.

If you've ever thought about it, allow me to encourage you to really give it a go. Learning a new language involves more than memorizing a vocabulary or getting acquainted with a new set of grammar rules. In fact, learning a second language can change your entire thought process, sharpen your wits and improve your overall communication skills. It will change the way you look at the English language and probably increase your appreciation of it.

Learning a new language isn't easy. It does get easier, though, when you're immersed in a culture that speaks the language you are trying to learn. If not, you'll have to be a little more creative, apart from diligently taking your lessons and completing your courses.

When I first learned Spanish, having come from a native English background, I had a painfully hard time. I studied it as a hobby (just something I wanted to try), using an interactive software to learn language that I bought from a website.

I was lucky, though, because I knew folks in school who spoke Spanish, with whom I was able practice my speaking skills, even learning a trick or two. Additionally, I ramped it up on my end. In fact, I consider learning Spanish one of the biggest turning points of my life. To think I only wanted to give a second language a try!

Tagalog is the language that is primarily spoken in the Philippines in a region on the main island of Luzon. This language is the second most spoken Asian language in the United States. For the beginning learner a language chat room may be a good starting point. These chat rooms will be totally immersing you in the new language. The convenience is excellent because the rooms are available 24 hours a day. This is a convenient way to learn the language in your home, at your own pace, and when you set the time. The basic slang and common use of the language will be repeated often enough for the beginner to leave each session with some new words to practice.

Using an English online language translation dictionary and online tutoring is another easy way to learn the language. The online dictionary offers a list of frequently used English words and phrases that are translated into the desired language for practice. There are also language Discussion Groups online to join much like the live chat rooms. The Discussion Groups are geared for learning and conversing in the language. Questions are posed and answers can come from more than one source. A diversity in the chat rooms and discussion groups adds another dimension to learning the language in a more pleasant setting.

Another means to learn this language is through the regular classroom learning style. This method may give too much detail to be the fastest way to learn a new language. To learn more than just a new conversational language the conventional classroom is probably the best choice. If your reason for learning any second language is for pleasure or business there is an abundance of opportunities for learning in the style best suited for you.

Word and syllable emphasis is more important than many people think. There are a lot of languages that use this emphasis in their everyday words. However, when you are trying to improve your English, this is an issue that can not be overlooked.

Word emphasis or word stress is a way of pronouncing an English word when spoken by a native speaker. The emphasis in a word, if pronounced incorrectly, can actually be mis-interpreted as another word. Quite possibly, someone might not be able to understand you at all. We're going to take a look at some examples and ways that you might be able to determine how and where to put your emphasis on certain syllables.

First, I want to explain to you what  syllable is and how you can determine how many syllables are in a word. A syllable, simply put, is a part of a word consisting of a vowel with consonants surrounding it, usually prior to the vowel. For example, the word SPOKEN. There are two syllables in this word - SPO and KEN.

A syllable is a natural break in a word. Try saying the word "Spoken" just like it is above. Say it a couple times in that manner, then say the word normally. You should be able to feel the natural break that I am speaking of. Here is a list of words separated by syllables. Repeat each one a few times in its broken form, then say the word naturally. After you finish, I'll continue speaking on the word emphasis or stress. Here is a trick for learning the syllables in other words: Clap for every vowel you say in a word.

Word Emphasis or Word Stress is determined using the syllables as a basis. Word Emphasis is not something that is taught, but can definitely be learned using a proactive method of learning English. Like I have said many times before, listening is the key to this.

When you listen to spoken English, you will naturally be hearing the emphasis on words. This is learned subconsciously. Which is why you must listen to English as much as you can. I don't suggest trying to listen to the emphasis intentionally. You probably will not be able to hear it or understand when you do hear it. But the point of my article here is to explain what word emphasis or word stress is and how, when practicing pronunciation, you can make sure you are understood in your spoken English.

When pronouncing an English word, we use what is called Word Emphasis or stress. There was a movie that pointed out how the word emphasis can be confusing.

The person says "ASS es the window" but the word is assESS. The word ass in English is considered a bad word. So you can see that when the word emphasis is used incorrectly, you may alienate your listeners.

When you see the capitalized letters here, that is where you put the emphasis or stress on the syllable. (stay tuned in to World English Club because this will be easier to understand once I have added audio) When you put stress on the syllable, that means that you should emphasize that specific syllable. Emphasis is done in these three ways: Longer in duration, higher in pitch, and louder in volume. Try saying the word emphasis in these three ways.

First of all, do you notice that the capital letters in each set of words are the syllables? That is because the syllables are the basics for the word stress or word emphasis. Next, you should have noticed that each time you said a different word, it gave the word a different feeling.

Learning and listening to English and the word emphasis on syllables will help you learn how to speak more smoothly and fluently. This is a lesson often overlooked by teachers and learners of the English language.  So continue to listen to English and start slowly with this topic. Soon you will improve your spoken English to a point where you will sound like a native speaker of the language.

"Namaskar! Lekh ke prarambh mein lekhak ka abhivaadan sweekar karein". If all of this seems Greek to you, then may I take the opportunity of saying that it's Hindi. And all those big, heavy words mean that 'yours truly' sends a warm a€œhelloa€ to you.

I won't blame you if you were not able to comprehend that, for it was a deliberate attempt to start off with Shudh Hindi (the scholarly one, you know!). As every other language, Hindi too has its many versions where language often gets transformed into dialects.

The colloquial Hindi language is not difficult to learn, though the first look of those curves and sticks in the Devnagri script are enough to give you a good run for your money. But once you stick around; A, AAa€¦a€¦, are as easy as A, B, C (literally!).

Hindi and Urdu draw quite a number of similarities. But other languages like English, French etc also draw analogies with Hindi. 'Mother' in English is 'Mere' in French, 'Madre' in Spanish and 'Ma' or 'Mata' in Hindi.

If you have always been scared of grammar, rest assured you can tame it. The rules are surely going to help you in broader sense. The easiest and fastest way to learn is to have Hindi speaking people around.

But some special tips for beginners won't hurt. Fill in the blank -

It's a no-brainer. Whenever you find 'hun' at the end of the sentence, 'Main' will accompany it. Don't even think twice before writing that.

Hindi is a language to be befriended and whether it's for better grades, getting access to rich texts or just to enjoy Hindi Cinema, you never regret this decision.

Learning and increasing vocabulary is an important part of education and K-12 education in particular. Children tend to learn many words from hearing them spoken around them, and learn further words from general reading, but manyteachers also believe it helps for children to be specifically taught to learn useful words and their definitions.   One idea that can help make this a fun and exciting idea for students is introducing vocabulary games, and one game in particular that can be played for this purpose is vocabulary bingo.

The way that vocabulary bingo is played is:

1. Each student is given a bingo card (also known as "bingo board" or "bingo worksheet") containing a grid of squares. Each square in the grid is printed with a different word.

2. The teacher, playing the part of bingo caller, reads out the definition for a word. The students then attempt to find the matching square on their bingo card, and if they find it, cover that square with a counter.

3. The process of teacher reading out definitions, and the students trying to find matches continues until one student achieves a winning pattern (for example a line of five countered covered squares - although the definition of a winning pattern can be varied) and calls out "Bingo!"

Vocabulary bingo is not only a lot of fun, but really can help students learn new words. What's more, the same idea can be adapted to other educational purposes, for example, teaching parts of speech (example bingo call: "a verb beginning with P"), math or even foreign language words. All that is needed is a set of bingo cards containing the particular items that the teacher chooses for the particular lesson - and these can very easily be printed using a PC and some bingo card maker software.
